FIRST LOOK: VETEMENTS, a photobook by Pierre-Ange Carlotti.
VETEMENTS is one of the most anticipated fashion collaborations of 2016 between Corsican photographer Pierre-Ange Carlotti and Demna Gvasalia's Parisian brand Vetements, launched as recently 2014 and already thought of as the ones to watch by the biggest names in fashion. Shot in the days before, during and after the Vetements SS16 Paris show, it's the very first Vetements book and IDEA collaboration with a fashion label. At 300 pages it's an eclectic in-depth documentation of the collection, with the images subsequently becoming the SS16 lookbook, it's definitely worth a look.
Pierre’s first exhibition Bored and Naked featured an impressive array of honest and unapologetically explicit portraits of friends and lovers and Vetements will be his exceptional début book. This partnership will also be the 2nd book published by IDEA in this year following Naked Heartland by Willy Vanderperre. Last year, IDEA published Collier Schorr’s Contacts, 635 by Willy Vanderperre, Youth Hotel by Gosha Rubchinskiy and Derek Ridgers' The Others [read our review of The Others here].
Launched at Paris during Men’s Fashion Week at the Comme des Garçons Trading Museum, you can also grab yourself a copy from IDEA at Dover Street Market London, New York and Ginza, Tokyo, at select stores internationally or on the website www.idea-books.com.
